Fixes for alternative firmware on Sony PRS-505 and 300! Download a new version 1.8.1.1

Change log:

  1. Time setup inside eBook Applications firmware
  2. Automatic power-off function (based on timer setting)
  3. Fixed high power consumption when SD/MSD card is used on PRS-505
  4. Portuguese localization
  5. Minor changes and bug-fixes

  5. clock is doesn’t work. PROBLEM with trimming long names (stroke) in FILES menu REMAIN !!!!!!!!! (Sony 505)

  7. Eugene, clock works fine for me (PRS-300). What do you mean saying “clock is doesn’t work”. They are not shown? Time settings can’t be changed? Something else?

  8. У меня на месте часов в строке состояния отображается набор цифр и иногда поверх индикатора заряда и номера страницы(PRS-505).

  9. @Rochester yes, Chinese has been supported for a while. You have to download Chinese fonts for this.

    Would it be possible to add a search facility as part of a forthcoming release? This would make computer manuals and reference books more use.

  12. My first try at this software:
    Slow navigation – sits and thinks for ages
    Slow opening books
    Very slow opening pdfs in the Calibre database.
    Why aren’t books from Calibre shown with the others?
    Failed totally to open an Epub book purchased from Waterstones
    When scaling the screen with pdfs, the text goes off the edge of the screen and you have to use the arrows to read the end of sentences – wtf?
    I did not notice any great increase in speed paging or navigating in general

    I will have another go with the 2.0 version, until then – not impressed!

  15. Спасибо! Существует еще одна проблема: на каком-то этапе книги перестают открываться. Помогает переход на Sony и обратно. Повторяется на двух 505-х.

  16. Дополнительный вопрос: из “Файлы” переходит напрямую в последнюю открытую директорию, а не подряд по существующему дереву. Так запланировано, или баг?

  18. @max259. Yes it is planned. We are working on v2.0 of our firmware which will have greatly improved interface, various new search and navigational options, inlcuding support for meta information.

  21. Происходит закрытие книги и она перестаёт открываться, приходится делать возврат к Sony и обратно. Разряд батареи очень быстрый, хватает на 600-700 страниц на Sony 505.

  22. Well, I must say, I’m just so happy to have your firmware because of the font size options, font options in general and the (before on my original sony fw not working – don’t know why) bookmarks feature.

  23. Finally I got the courage to install this firmware. Now I have problems with opening EPUB files. After opening the file, the cover picture appears for about 10 seconds on the screen. Thereafter the file closes again. After this the particulair title is showing in the Main Menu. I have tried several EPUB files, with all the same result.

    Anybody with suggestions?

  25. После обновления, не видит родные книжники на SD в родной папке райдера, при перекопирования на корень карточки книжки стали видны, но не открываются.
